Passenger Side Automatic Door Lock Not Working

If the lock tries to move then the problem could be a frozen lock mechanism or a faulty solenoid.

If one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be a blown fuse. A fuse is blown. Defrost the lock to check an individual lock mechanism work the door lock manually up and down or backwards and forwards in newer vehicles while using the auto lock button at the same time. Replacing it may require removing the car door panel.

If all of the door locks are inoperative start your diagnosis at the fuse box. An inoperative power door lock can be caused by the switch solenoid wiring problem or mechanical problem within the linkage of the affected door. The door lock doent open close with any switches on the passenger driver switch pad nor does it open with my remote. It does open close when i insert the key in the driver side door.

Chances are your solenoid is burned up or maybe a loose connection. I have an 08 altima 2 5s and two days ago my driver s side door lock stopped working in response to the remote the keyless entry button on the door handle and the lock button on the inside. Again if one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be with the door lock solenoid. The only way to lock unlock it is manually push the lock from the inside or use the key from the outside.

If it s not sending a signal the fob will likely have to be replaced. Just make sure the key is on. All three other door locks respond normally. Have the same problem with my driver side lock i believe i need a new actuator.

This is a cheap and easy fix. Replacing the fuse will correct the problem. If i insert the key into the passenger side door the lock doesnt open close. The solenoid is bad.
